The pillow sham comes with the outline of the United States screen printed with a beautiful dark brown ink that goes with almost any decor. Then YOU can CUSTOMIZE IT by coloring in the states you have visited with colored fabric markers or paint to create your own unique pillow. Choose a specific color theme or let the kids color it and make it as colorful as possible. (Please follow instructions on your specific fabric markers about heat setting, etc.)

The pillow sham is a faux linen texture in a beige/flax color. The color of the pillow is light so the marker or paint colors you choose will really pop!!

Please Note: This pillow is a DIY project. Campfire Ink is NOT RESPONSIBLE for how you choose to customize your pillow and the final result. We will not refund your pillow because of errors and mistakes made while customizing. This is an art project. We suggest you test your markers/paint out on the small fabric sample provided to see how it reacts with this material before you start coloring in your states. If your paint or markers are too wet, they will bleed, and color will go outside the lines. In most cases, I feel like it’s best to not color up to the line until you know how far your markers might bleed.

We also suggest putting a piece of paper or paper towel inside the pillow before coloring in the states to prevent bleeding through to the other side.

Use light strokes and draw very lightly. You can always add more layers. If you get too much ink on the pillow, it will bleed across the lines.

Please heat set your pillow according to the marker directions. Most of the time, this requires heating your pillow with an iron
